From Toy Story to The Good Dinosaur, some of the most iconic and hilarious moments in Pixar's films were first conceived by the artists featured in this book. But there are hundreds of gags that don't make it past the cutting room floor, like Mater as a ninja and Sadness wearing mom jeans. Funny! explores this material in depth, showcasing classic moments from all of Pixar's films to date, plus never-before-published illustrations and doodles from the Pixar archives. With an introduction by veteran story man Jason Katz, this book is a must-have for any Pixar fan.

This week we are recommending the book Maps of the Disney Parks: Charting 60 Years from California to Shanghai. It all started with a map. . . . Maps of the Disney Parks are more than just atlases used by guests to find their way to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. They are snapshots of a place and time, relics treasured by collectors, and gorgeous pieces of artwork. In fact, it was a map-imagined by Walt Disney and drawn by Herbert Ryman-that was used to sell the idea of Disneyland to investors. Unfold this book bursting with beautiful maps from when the very first Disney Park opened in 1955 right up to today. Discover details on how and why the domestic and international parks have changed over time, and enjoy six decades worth of skillful creativity.

The Disney Story: Chronicling the Man, the Mouse, and the Parks by Aaron Goldberg
I just finished this book and really enjoyed it. The author divides the book into decades from 1930s to the 2000s and takes you through the major points in the Walt Disney company. He uses lots of newspaper and magazine interviews for reference. I highly recommend it. There is a great site that goes along with the book, https://www.thedisneystory.com/ where he has scans and links to original articles used in his book. There is even a section of stories that did not make it into the book.
Check out the site: https://www.thedisneystory.com/
